Being born on the 11th day of the 11th month meant that poppies always held a special significance.  Mam said that because of her birth date she was going to be called Poppy - not sure she looked like a Poppy 🤔

Mam loved her birthday, she was not too bothered about presents as long as she received a card.  She opened each very carefully and even when her dementia was advanced read every word that was written in them. She kept many of these cards which we discovered recently.
